Tribes of the Alkeb Kingdom

In the Alkeb Kingdom, the tribes designate cultural entities grouping together several clans , organized according to common linguistic, spiritual, social or historical ties.

Unlike clans, tribes have no formal political structure or centralized decision-making body. There is no tribal chief; each clan remains autonomous and is led by its own chief.

Although culturally cohesive, the tribes do not necessarily speak with one voice. Dissension between clans from the same tribe is common throughout the kingdom's history. Occasionally, some tribes decide to unite under a single banner in order to form a united military front against a common enemy, as has been the case on numerous occasions for the Lowlands, the Southern Water, and the Iron Blood tribes. With the exception of the Howling Isles, the tribes do not have an official, dedicated army.

So the tribes have only one function cultural and social , without weight in political governance. The only notable exception is the Spiritual Tribe , often wrongly confused with the Spiritual Council , although it does not have a territorial base like the others.

Main recognized tribes

Black Mountain Tribe

It is considered one of the most influential in the kingdom. Having housed the cradle of Alkeb life, eleven thousand years ago, it extends from the east of Nār to the west of KI'Galāni . It includes two major clans: the royal Mamake clan and the vassal Elengua clan .

Northern Water Tribe

Neighboring the Black Mountains tribe, it is located near the Great Marsh of N'yambi , in the region of KI'Galāni . The Yemãa clan occupies a dominant position there. This tribe, relatively discreet and attached to its mysticism, with clans very attached to traditions and spirituality, is mainly organized around rivers, lakes and streams, and not the sea, unlike their counterparts in the South.

Great Plains Tribe

Located northwest of Alkebula, in the region of Ān , this tribe inhabits one of the poorest areas of the kingdom. It is dominated by the Këta clan , governor of the region, and a dozen minor clans renowned for their expertise in hyena training and their excellence as warriors .

Basseterre Tribe

The second largest tribe in the kingdom, it brings together 27 clans and covers a large part of the territory, including Jansã Wa'Ni , the south of Nār , the south of Ān , and the surroundings of the Black Jungle of Nirãni .

Southern Water Tribe

Known for the famous and impressive Obsidian Citadel in the city of Makemila, Kozane, as well as powerful clans specializing in navigation and maritime art, this tribe stretches from the Three Moons to southern Órelota . It is also famous for having produced many djēles and djēlis , who have recounted maritime exploits throughout history and forged myths and tales about extraordinary sea creatures.

Desert Tribe

Located in the Tonsëān Desert has Wagadu , it is composed of only four clans . It is the native tribe of Mansã Ba , famous poet and philosopher from Alkeb who founded the first academy of the kingdom in eighth millennium .

Mist Tribe

Composed mainly of mixed-race elves and white elves , she is located at Taneltzia , east of Alkebula. This region was the scene of the Great Necrotic Wars and tribal conflicts between moon elves and white elves, especially between the 4th and 6th millennia.

Western Mountain Tribe

Formed of white elves , this tribe is located in the northwest of Bemen .

Sun Tribe

Located south of Bemen , it is also composed of white elves . It brings together around twenty closely linked clans, particularly to the Tribe of the Mists , by ancient traditions and alliances.

Iron Blood Tribe

A powerful neighboring tribe of the Southern Water Tribe, this tribe is composed mainly of half-elves and of Sanan originating from Kemnel, from Sãnalota and also extends overseas to Jansãlota. The latter is mainly populated by Sanan and of mixed bloods . The inhabitants of Jansãlota , form the heart of this community, alongside humans from Milakemet . It is one of the most heterogeneous and mixed of the kingdom.

Spiritual Tribe

Unique in its nature, this tribe is not associated with any geographical region. It exclusively brings together shamans , Azizas And kizoyus . It should not be confused with the Spiritual Council , a specific body acting in the cultural and spiritual domain of the kingdom. The Spiritual Tribe constitutes a transversal community, often considered the mystical heart of Alkeb.
