GENERAL PRESENTATION
Inspired by African, Afro-Caribbean, and Latin American diasporic cultures, Alkebworld is a dark afro-fantasy universe. It revolves around the Kingdom of Alkeb, a millennia-old civilization where spirituality, organic technologies, clan traditions, and post-colonial tensions intertwine. Across more than 6,000 years of history, major conflicts unfold between humanity, religions, and the various Alkeb peoples, within a world deeply scarred by the wounds of the past and contemporary struggles for power.
The Panther with Two Hearts (Trilogy)
The main storyline of the trilogy follows the destinies of Valnia and Olivia. Raised in Brussels, Belgium, the two sisters see their reality shattered when they accidentally discover their Alkeb origins.
Threatened by the Belgian state, which is preparing to strip them of their fundamental human rights, they are forced to flee. Their paths then diverge:
The younger sister, Valnia, who until then despised the Alkeb, chooses exile in Haiti alongside their mother, while rejecting her mixed-blood heritage.
Olivia, on the other hand, embraces her newfound identity with curiosity and decides to seek her place within the Alkeb Kingdom.
Against her will, Olivia becomes entangled in the heart of a fratricidal civil war orchestrated by a feared and immensely powerful elfine known as The Dark One. What begins as an internal conflict soon escalates into a full-scale civilizational war against Humanity itself, as humans come to view the Alkeb and their mystical powers as an existential threat.
THE RACES
Alkebworld is inhabited by numerous civilizations and intelligent species whose biological, spiritual, and cultural differences have shaped both the history of the Alkeb Kingdom and its relationship with the rest of the world.
The Moon Elves are among the oldest and most influential peoples of Alkeb civilization. Recognizable by their dark skin, towering stature, and golden eyes, they are renowned for their extraordinary longevity, often living between 1,200 and 1,400 years. Their society maintains an exceptionally deep connection with the Endokã, mastering its spiritual, political, and martial applications with unmatched sophistication.
The White Elves, native to Bemên, are distinguished by their pale skin and grey eyes. Heirs to austere traditions, they gradually developed a culture shaped by martial discipline, mountain isolation, and the control of mining resources, particularly those linked to Lyr. Their influence remains considerable throughout the northern and mining regions of the continent.
The Sanêlke appeared later in the Alkeb Kingdom, and their origins remain a matter of debate among historians and djēle alike. Though physically similar to African humans, they possess a remarkable lifespan ranging between 300 and 350 years. The Sanêlke are especially known for their mystical traditions, often regarded as esoteric by other peoples.
Humans, meanwhile, constitute the most widespread and diverse population outside the central Alkeb territories. Divided into countless civilizations, cultures, and religions, they maintain complex relations with the Alkeb Kingdom, fluctuating between trade, fascination, mistrust, and open conflict.
Finally, mixed-bloods and hybrids occupy a central place within the world’s social and political dynamics. Inter-species unions have given rise to numerous lineages, some prestigious, others marginalized. For centuries, these mixed origins have crystallized deep identity-based, religious, and civilizational tensions, often becoming one of the primary driving forces behind the conflicts explored throughout The Panther with Two Hearts.
On the human side, the Order of Sheol is a human religious and militaro-political organization that views the Alkeb as Nephilim. Structured around Hierophants, Preachers, Legionnaires, Paladins, Master Orators, and Master Treasurers, the Order pursues three primary objectives: the eradication of Alkeb influence, the establishment of a Shéolite theocracy, and the spiritual control of the world.
TECHNOLOGY
Despite its deeply spiritual and traditional foundations, the Alkeb world possesses advanced technologies largely based on the use of Endokã and Lyr.
Lyr is a rare metal that naturally reacts to Endokã, primarily mined in the regions of Bemên and western Alkebula. It is used across many fields, including weapon forging, luxury textiles, energy technologies, electronic components, and anti-mirroring devices designed to suppress the use of Endokã.
The Alkeb Kingdom Badge (BRA) is a multifunctional administrative device directly linked to the user’s Endokã. Used throughout the kingdom, it serves both as an identification system and as a means of accessing services, networks, and infrastructures.
Among the major industrial powers of the Alkeb world is Focal Blue, a technological multinational founded by the Ogunge clan. The company is regarded as a global leader in the production of Lyr-based microchips, augmented reality technologies, and the colar devices used in human prisons to suppress Alkeb mirroring abilities.
CULTURAL ELEMENTS
The djēle and djēli are poets, singers, chroniclers, and guardians of Alkeb collective memory. The g’mindje are warrior-dancers capable of channeling Lyr and Endokã to manipulate heat and ice. Meanwhile, the Tóköko are ceremonial bead necklaces symbolizing age, experience, and the various cycles of life.
The BIKAS is a diplomatic, cultural, and economic alliance bringing together Brazil, Intuló, the Alkeb Kingdom, and South Africa. Several other nations also participate as observer states.
